Thank You for Welcoming Me . . .

I do not own a boat but plan to do so soon. Meanwhile I charter frequently.
I am planning to go to Dominica and would like to know if it is nice and safe to cruise there.

We enjoyed our stay in Dominica, and we did not have any bad experiences there. It's not a particularly rich island, but it is very pretty. I would happily go there again. The island must be fairly stable as there is an American Curriculum Medical School there on the north end of the island where many students from the US come down for their studies. I visited the campus, and it was beautiful.

Grenada also has a nice medical school (St Georges).

At the time of the American invasion (Urgent Fury) in 1983, there were about 500 American students enroled. Their presence was a major excuse reason Reagan gave for the invasion.

Welcome to the Forum, furrutia.

I've been to Dominica nine times, and absolutely love the place. It's a nature-lover's paradise. To get the most out of your visit, I recommend hiring one of the Indian River guides. There's much to see and a lot of great hiking, snorkeling and diving on the island, and having a guide makes it a richer experience. If you like, I can give you a recommendation.

Yes they were dangerously close to graduating.
