Smile Still Searching

Hi everyone,

I've been sailing for a number of years, and over that time have owned (in order of purchase) a wooden, a fiberglass and a ferrocement sailboat. I liked the ferrocement Samson C-Mist the most because of its good construction and sailing characteristics.

Unfortunately, I sold this boat many years ago, while still working full-time (I'm retired now) and I didn't have the time to sail and maintain the boat properly.

I've been looking at some nice full-keel fiberglass sailboats, but for me, they're just not the same, so the search continues.

My previous boat, a 33' Samson C-Mist by the name of "Serenity III" was registered in Victoria, BC Canada. If anyone knows the whereabouts of this boat, I would be interested in her condition, and if the current owner is interested in selling.

Thanks,
Rick.

Re: still searching

Can't help with your boat search - but welcome to CF nonetheless.

With your ownership history of varying hull materials (only need steel to complete the set!) your input will no doubt be of interest to folks here - plusses and minuses to that of course .

Re: still searching

Thanks guys,

BTW, I'm not ruling out a steel sailboat; just haven't owned one yet.

Re: still searching

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here. I'm acquainted with the fellow that managed the Samson yard in Southern California many years ago. He has good things to say about them and I don't have anything against well constructed ferro boats but I do prefer fiberglass.
kind regards,
