We did some of our favorite cruising down there. I'd suggest that when you're ready to leave St Lucia
, that you clear out in Marigot and then head
down to Soufriere to spend the night on a mooring
. Leave at dawn for Bequia. You should arrive in time to clear in before the C&I office closes. From there you have your pick of beautiful islands and anchorages
. Wind and wave conditions depend on what time of year you'll be there, but you shouldn't encounter anything you can't handle.
I have to disagree with the warning about the boat vendors. They're just trying to make a living and actually do provide useful services. If you treat them with respect and a smile, and chat a little, you can tell them "No" and you won't get any guff. Some are real characters and fun to banter with.
