Smiles from Vancouver, BC

I've been referring to threads here in the last little while and after testing the waters and finding them safe, inviting and largely knowledgeable, took the plunge today in signing up.

It is with great joy then that I say, " Hello, everyone. "

I am a young woman living in Vancouver, BC Canada, who is now reading literature and manuals on sailing and at the point of choosing which school and certification I will take on. I'm excited as sailing is something wonderful I've only ever watched from the safe distance of shore.

For me, sailing comes from my curiousity and love for the world and life. I feel as though there is so much to explore, and I want to give myself the skills, knowledge and opportunities to appreciate as much as possible.

So sailing is my exploration of my dream to experience water and the wind as it relates to my body, the sail and the boat.

I'm interested in any and all opportunities to learn, whether through reading suggestions and stories of others' experience, or hands on, although preferably the latter. If anyone near the area, or abroad ( I'm always overjoyed at the chance of travel!) would like some company or is interested in teaching a patient, able and willing newcomer, I would love to hear from you.

Warm regards.

Why hello,
I love your description of the world as a place with so much to explore, and your desire to appreciate it is contagious. I know you will find this forum to be welcoming and practically helpful in many ways. Eager to read your input,
Spencer
