Smalltime Sailing - Bigtime Dreams!

Hi everyone,
My name is Spencer and I am stepping into the world of sailing. Maybe I should re-phrase, I am quickly falling into the abyss that is sailing. I purchased my first boat recently; A seaworthy 15 ft catamaran. While I am still in college, this will serve me well. I look forward to sailing in on weekends. Living in Illinois is not the best plcae for sailing, but my boat is on a medium size lake in Michigan. I look forward to learning from all you salty sea-dogs out there.

Hi Spencer,

Welcome to the forum. I think most of us on CF suffer from the same disease so don't look for anyone here to pull you out of the abyss.

Glad to have you with us, Scook1. A small cat is a good way to learn the ropes, as it were. I learned to sail on a Hobie 16, and loved it.

Aloha Scook,
Welcome aboard! Good to have you on the forum and sailing.
The wife is from a farming community in the quad-cities area so I know where Illinois is.
Kind regards,
JohnL
