Sailor from Olympia, WA jumping on board

I am evaluating boats and am looking for some input on a 41 ft Formosa Center Cockpit Ketch. Where is the best place to dig up info from those who have sailed her type? I am looking to take a boat blue water cruising

Aloha Z,
Welcome aboard!! There is a forum member in Tacoma with a center cockpit 42foot Cascade. His name is SteveK and I think you can find him with a search in this forum.
We just came back from a trip up your way to Port Townsend and the Wooden Boat Festival. Great time.
The Formosa can develop some dry rot issues in the areas where glassed over plywood was used in their construction. Check for soft spots in the transom, cabin sides (especially under ports) and top and deck.
Having owned a bunch of different boats I would not go over a 36 footer again and would choose an aft cockpit design. Just my opinion.
Kind Regards,
JohnL
