Hi to everybody, I'm Lucio from Genoa - Italy, I've been browsing through this forum for a while and I hope to contribute as far as I can.
Although a boat owner is said to be happy just twice, when he buys the boat and when he sells her, to tell the truth I'm still happy with CAMADO, my 29' King's Cruiser built by ABO - Finland in 1973. I bought her 18 months ago and am still happy about, although I'm not able to sail her as often as I'd wish but... probably this is the same problem that most of us have, at least those who still have to work for their living!

My wife and I are exclusively Bahamas/Caribbean sailors. The first European to sail those waters was also from Genoa.

not all Genoeses are so good at sailing... I don't even dream of crossing oceans, and very probably I'll stick to genoese riviera for my short-ranged cruises! Well, let me show a bit of envy for those lucky guys that can enjoy Caribbean waters... but after all, also Mediterranean is not that bad!

Thank you all for your warm welcome.... well, it's supposed to be warm at least for those lucky guys & girls living & sailing in the Caribbeans....
By the way, I noticed Erika is based in Kemah! I've been there a few years ago, as I'm working for the Italian branch of a US-Company based in Houston, and a friend of mine took me there one w/e. A great marina! And lots of funny places around! But less than one week after, I had to catch the first available flight back to Europe due to a hurricane coming, I think it was Rita or something like that. As we say here, there's no rose without thorns!

actually, the boat in the icon is a sister to mine.... all the photos I have are too large to be uploaded as an avatar, or at least that's how I understood it... nevermind, sooner or later I'll post some good shot of my old lady (meaning the boat, who was born in 1973, not the wife, who is actually a bit older... same as myself, to be honest!)

I'll definitely get in touch with Texas CF group for a BBQ prior to coming there next time, regretfully it doesn't happen very often! And new flight policies coming into force will not help... Any other Italian CF listening?

I was in Genoa 3 weeks ago tomorrow night and I was over awed by the beauty of the magnificent buildings along the main road beside the harbour.

Wish I was still in the Med.
