Sailing western Montana

New to CF and sailboats in general. We will be sailing on Flathead Lake mostly this coming summer 2015. Any advice is appreciated. We have a 2000 Compac 25 on a tandem axle trailer. Thank you in advance. Scott

Re: Sailing western Montana

Welcome! Flathead Lake is lovely country, and the lake is plenty big enough for you to roam. Have fun when it melts!

Are you sailing out of nfyc? I've sailed flathead quite a bit, it's fun, the breeze can go from 0 to holy schnikies in a second.

Re: Sailing western Montana

Thank you everyone for the replies. Can't wait for winter to be over even tho it just started. Will probably check out nfyc and the Dayton yc. It's a bummer we traveled all the way to toledo Ohio to get the boat last month and now we have to wait, seeing it covered in snow until probably late may or June before we can take her out.

Re: Sailing western Montana

Add rails to the keel for a bit-o-midwinter ice sailing. ;-)

(heck one could almost get away with that on a Westerly)
