My wife and I are new to sailing after spending 10 years with powerboats. After some introspection and further
research it has come to our attention that the
wind is free vs $4-$5 per gallon of
diesel. I have always believed that sailing is the more romantic method of cruising and now need to learn as much as possible as quickly as possible. I intend to take
sailing lessons this spring and hope to improve upon my two weeks of "sailing experience" on 44' sailing cats in the
Caribbean while on
vacation.
My wife and I live in South
Florida and plan to
purchase a 35'-43' sailboat within the next two years. I have read the
current threads regarding some
Caribbean boats and would like something that can be sailed single-handed, be comfortable enough to spend several months aboard, be a solid and safe home and cost under $120,000.
We would be happy to entertain any and all suggestions.
Thanks!
