pirate Sailing to the South Pacific

Hello, Just joined this forum and want to introduce myself. My wife and I own a 38 foot sloop which we built ourselves and have cruised the South Pacific for the last 8 years. We live in the North Island of New Zealand and have done the trip to the Islands several times. It's nice to escape the southern winters.

I can imagine millions of NZ sheep with snowshoes on! (Sorry, tongue-in-cheek Canadian)

Welcome to the forums, Alan! Looking forward to your knowledge of the South Pacific, as I'm gearing up to head down there, enroute to the Southern Philippines.

Hi Allan, like you we are new users of this site. Have fun in the South Pacific, we are just leaving Australia for the Mediterranean.

Re: Sailing to the South Pacific

Hi Alan,
I was thinking about this the other day. In your winter, which is our summer, you dream of going north to escape the cold and in our winter, which is your summer, we dream of heading south for the same reason. Well, thank goodness gravity holds us all down.

Welcome to the forum,
Greg.
