Ok try this: http://svtaipan.blogspot.com.au/?m=1

Hopefully this will work. Done this on the phone on the boat. If the link doesn't work just go to google and type in a taipan and they will come straight up. They are very experienced cruisers and have been cruising for nearly 10 years continuously.

Re: Sailing Indian Ocean

I'm in the middle of this book right now and it's been really interesting. First hand interviews and research on Somalia, Al-Shabab, the Somali diaspora, and piracy.

I've sailed from Thailand via the Maldives, Chagos and Madagascar to South Africa once, and from Australia via Christmas Island, Cocos Keeling, Rodriques Island and Madagascar to South Africa on the second voyage.

Happy to provide information about both routes.
We are going the S Africa route from Thailand. Will skip Chagos but may want to go via Madagascar. How did you find the passage down the channel to S Africa?
