Sailing around the world, wanna join?

Aloha I’m Ryan, and this summer I plan to sell my home and use the proceeds to purchase a sailboat capable of taking me anywhere around the world. I have many destinations in mind and I know the journey will alter course. I’ll be starting wherever I purchase new vessel then head back down to the Virgin Islands to say hello to some old friends and explore, cross to the Caribbean side of Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Boca del Torres, the Panama Canal, Galapagos, Indo, Fiji, Bali, New Zealand, Australia... with no timelines, all from the comfort of an RV on the sea.

Have you ever dreamed of packing your most dear materialistic possessions onto a 45’ sailboat and taking them around the world with you? The wind is free and so long as the boat holds strong, each day can be spent exploring new places and meeting new faces...

I’ve dreamed this for years and as time progresses, I get older (33 yrs now), my perceived budget keeps increasing and the rat race isn’t the pace I want my soul to face so I’m giving this somewhat unlikely, yet moderately possible thought a go before I launch solo.

Would I be able to locate a crew who shares similar dreams, saving habits, valid passport, who has a little class, yet not too much sass in their ass and able to live footloose and fancy free?

My saving thus far will take me for a couple of years, so I am hoping to find crew who has ample savings they are willing to contribute to our adventures for what could turn into decades.

I am now in the final months of placing into action and will be listing my home for sale soon. When it sells I will use the equity to buy the boat, spend a few months ensuring everything I need for journey is aboard and then wait for weather windows to cast off.

Email me ryancuisine@gmail.com with a little about yourself if this interests you or if I may elaborate. If it sounds like we may work well together then we would need to meet before.

Quick snap of me:
I’m a certified Merchant Mariner Masters USCG 50 ton Captain’s License with a sailing endorsement, I’ve lived aboard and sailed around the Virgin Islands for 2 years, I sailed back to VA a few years ago to jump back into the corporate grind, to save money so that I could return to island time. I like to work hard and play hard. I love surfing, spear fishing and kite boarding and will likely be seeking out the best places in the world to enjoy these activities. I am a thoughtful, charismatic, passionate dude who is intrinsically optimistic and happy. I am currently a Realtor and the General Manager for the best catering company in our area. I have a few more months of work to complete in the catering business before I will feel complete with this tack in my life and able to change coarse to this next one I speak about, so with a lot of luck all of this will come together at just the right time;-).

Welcome to the forum. I'm not sure you are not going to take the "Rat Race" with you.

CaptRC, sounds like a good plan. Go for it. You are young, so find a GF with a similar interest and set sail.

Good luck and all the best.

A man with a plan
Sounds good; go for it - solo or with a GF who shares that dream.

Welcome to CF!

I was just told not to call out any male calling himself Captain ...
Apparently, that's just too damaging to their manhood.
So I'll be nice from now on and not voice my opinion on that 'issue'

Other then that, these 2 posts have nothing in common (or I'm thinking of the wrong post, but I doubt it somehow ).

Yep, apparently it's OK to give yourself a bogus title, but not OK for someone else to point it out.
