sailboat owners' survery for graduate research

Hello! I am the owner of an O'day 22 and a graduate student in Maritime History. I'm working on a research project about the evolution of sailing as recreation. I am looking for a some friendly and helpful sailboat owners to answer a few, short questions. These questions are directed particularly to O'day 22 owners or owners of similar, trailerable pocket-cruisers. Past-owners too!

Question 1: What type of vessel do (did) you own?

Question 2: What was your approximate income when you purchased this vessel?

Question 3: What were the main reasons for selecting this vessel?

Question 4: How many hours per month do you recreate on this vessel?

COMMENTS:

Please feel free to answer any or all questions. All responses, of course, will be kept anonymous. I appreciate ANY help and/or comments. Thank you in advance for your time and happy sailing!

Aloha Stephanie,
Welcome aboard! I hope you won't mind if I don't take your survey. I used to own a Catalina 22 but it had a fin keel and I didn't trailer it. This was in the early 80s when the dollar did not resemble what it does today but I can tell you that I used it at least 20 hours a month while I owned it. I kept it at a dock and it was easy to step aboard, raise the main and cast off the lines.
Kind regards,
JohnL
