That's a fact Boatman. My cousin circumnavigated his Camper 58 Cutter and cinvinced us to buy ours. You can follow his journey on this nice website comiled by their professional captain, Tony. Also Tony's other boats and projects. Click on any photo for more details and the album from that location. African Queen World Cruise

Good for you!
I re-fit a 1972 Nicholson 35 over 4 years as well. Best thing I ever did! I have given j-105s a bit more than they bargained for when the breeze piped up. You will just continue to smile and smile. Check in if you come through Annapolis!

Scurvydog,
Our boat was Perseverence Annapolis, Md before we bought and before that it was Rascal. Perhaps you saw it in its youth.

I believe I did see her in 1990 or so, anchored off Nevis.
One of the things I enjoy about C&N's designs, is the spot-on ratio of SA/DISP/BALLAST. THAT is the thing that always makes the boats perform so comfortably and well. Thanks for the pics! There is a yahoo group for Nicholson owners you might check out campernicholson : This list will be a contact point for owners and admirers of Camper Nicholson yachts. the majority are Nic 35s ... but we all hail from the same home!

We bought Roxy, our Camper & Nicholson 58 Ketch in Ft Lauderdale following its run-in with hurricane IVAN. Its been four years of restoration and finally in the water 2010. My wife and I sail it alone and with frequent guests. The big trip was 400 miles to Green Bay to see the tall ships. The first year shake down revealed a probable lighting hit before we bought. Alternator fried, genset won't start, GPS dodgy, two depth meters non-functional, radar also. We plan to make the electronics peddlers at the Chicago Boat show very happy. The cutter staysail was torn but repairable. The only Genoa is a 90% X 7/8 fractional storm sail. Main and Mozzen are new and the asymetrical kite and mizzen staysail are good. There are a few other odd sails (storm trisail). All stanchions & pulpits were broken, anchor bracket smashed, two holes above water, blisters. All fixed now - hurray! New genoa this spring. Plan is to retire, sell the house and disappear in a couple years. Exit for us is out the St Lawrence starting from Lake Michigan.
Funny thing is my mum was borne in Detroit I suppose you could have been neighbours He He He

Feelsgood, We are a long way from Detroit. Most of us wouldn't go there unless forced. The major yacht club is at the end of a long road through No-Man's land where you don't go after dark. Bars on the windows etc. Tall fence surrounds the place with guards. I had relatives in Dearborn - all moved long ago. It used to be a nice place when I was a kid.

Re: Roxy Says Hi from Muskegon, Michigan

Roxy
Nice looking boat. We are currently powerboaters and make the run from Grand Haven up to Dockers for dinner fairly often. I have eyed your boat with envy many times.

I am also a native of TC, so the port of call always piqued my curiosity.
