Wow! a "real" sailor. I have the greatest respect for anyone that wants to take on that leg. If you ever want a story to tell the Grandkids, the Cape Horn trip will do it.

Travis,

Thats an awseome goal. Make sure you keep us informed of your journey so those of us who wished we could get around the Horn can live vicariously through you, until we can do it ourselves of course

Thanks for the kind words! Anyone here been there? I am in the planning stages and would love to hear about previous trips. Southern Chile, glaciers, mountains, I hope i can finish the work in front of me before I cant resist taking off.

I smell a trip to Rio too? BEST WISHES on your adventure. Are you doing the canal, Chile, and then around?

Right now I am thinking canal, galapagos, santiago(lots of family there), then try and get lost in some fiords, and around. From what I have read, you DO NOT want to try and beat into the prevailing westerlies when they get fired up! Google Earth with the pictures enabled has got me on the edge of my seat.
