Polaris

Hello; After years of planning and talking about it, next week my sailboat Polaris will be shipped to Clearwater FL for a factory refitted over 10 days and we are off to the Keys and where the wind takes us from there. I have sailed for 15 years on the Great Lakes and down the East Coast once, I flew airplanes for 30 years have a CI and A&P Lic. And still worry about what I don't know or might need. Polaris is a ComPac 35 and has been a great boat on the GL's. Marny plans to run a blog, she is the writter, we have talked about the Great Circle the 1st yr, and the Gulf the second, Cuba holds an interest for us both. I'm installing a SSB and Raymarine C80 systems, with Garman and B&G backups, and a Cutter rig conversion. I will let you know how that works out. We will be southbound by Feb. 15th and can be contacted through CF and our info is in the profiles. Polaris, Ray R Irivn or Topper. Chat Soon Best Wishes To All. Ray

Start slow. Buy the goodies after a year. then you'll know if it was money wasted or really needed

Great plan Ray! With all that work don't hesitate to ask for help. We have folks here that have messed up and fixed just about anything. Not always in that order.

MarkJ speaks the wise words. You are not in a hurry because you are already there. Confirmation of all the things you don't know are best at a time of your own choosing.
