PNW Intro

Bob here,

I'm the proud owner of a 52' Amel Mango ketch headed south from Washington's San Juan Islands this summer for warmer latitudes. Central to south California are my planned destinations but I'd like to join up with the 2010 Baja Ha Ha and move further south into Mexico in the fall. No plans from there on - maybe the South Pacific or down to Panama? I'm going with the "decide when you get there" option but the one thing I do know is that I'm-out'f here!

I'm going solo this time as the X has just decided to choose the dog over me and to stay on solid ground. That's okay, I understand and respect her choice but that's not for me, I need to be in the sun and out of the "rat race".

Anyone interested in crewing?

-Bob

Aloha and welcome aboard!
I like the "decide when you get there" option. Just haven't got there yet.
regards,

Hey Bob,
You should post something in the "Crew wanted" thread. But be warned, you will get responses! Are you retired? Full time Cruising?

Welcome Aboard Bob..

I didn't happen to meet you at SeaTac airport 2 1/2 years ago headed to San Diego to look at a Super Maramu did I?

Hey Stillraining,

That's a very accurate user name for the PNW! I fly out of SeaTec all the time but don't recall a convo with ya. I flew down to Long Beach in July '07. The timings right but I don't think we made the connect.

Scook1: Yes, very early retired (49) and just going full time. I've had a sailboat for the last 15 years and been sailing for many more. Didn't do well with the four-foot step up process though, I went from a 22 to a 36 an now a 52. This is enough for length though and, I'm so pleased with this boat that I intend for her to be my last!

Must not have been...I think you would have remembered...we had a couple beers in the bar together and we thought it was funny we were both headed to San Diego at the same time boat shopping...just thought Id ask.

Have a good trip..Id love to go as far as San Diego with you but time away is not possible at that time.

Good luck to you and keep posing and updating us on all your travels..some of us are living vicariously through others adventures for the time being.
