Phase 2: Bahamas Relocation
Hey everyone,
Two new livaboards jumping on the live your dream bandwagon.
I have been saving for a long time to have enough to get a cruising boat and I just met my goal. I am in the market for a new 1980 fiberglass tub to whisk me away from the flatness and heat of Texas to the sunny Bahamas. I am glad to see it looks like there is a lot of activity on this forum.
I will be working online and have just almost completed my research mapping out wi-fi locations around the bahamas.
I will be asking alot of questions in the near future, Im sure you all will know just what is best. Me and my girlfriend are extremely excited to leave in september and if any of you are currently cruising in the bahamas or will be there in september or next year send me a message so I can introduce myself.
Thanks,
DB

Greetings and welcome aboard DB.
I'm sure there are many of us who would appreciate seeing your wi-fi location database, when completed.

DB,
We are hunkered down in Fort Myers FL for huricane season and will be leaving for the Bahamas via Boot Key and No Name Harbor in November. I too would love to see your wi-fi list!

It will be new to me. But in reality it is older than I am!

Greetings and welcoe to another Texan. Obviously your leg work on the WiFi spots is good info, I too would love to see your list. We're located in Kemah, Watergate marina and intend to depart Oct/Nov heading for the Bahamas ourselves. Between now and then we have some land cruising to do. Drop us a line if when you are in our area and we can talk some more. Good luck with the search for a new home.

Nah, it is cool and breezy even in the summer; (Unless ya hole up in a marina). Never had a need for A/C while at anchor in the Bahamas.

AND, the Bahamas have some of the most spectacular cruising waters in the world along with literally 100s of islands. It never ceases to amaze me that even a clunky old sailboat needs only a glorified day sail to get you from Florida to paradise.

DB,
You need to give us the real URL, not your own shortcut.

1. At my age, a 1980's birthdate is brand new!
2. As opposed to Florida?
The highest point in Florida is Britton Hill, Lakewood Park in Walton County (NW Panhandle) is only 345 feet above sea level, and is the lowest state high point in the nation. The Mean Elevation of the state of Florida is only 100 feet above sea level.
