Permision to Come Aboard

Hello all, I have been lurking for a while reading the post and trying to absorb as much as I can. I figured I should introduce myself. I do not have a great deal of sailing experience but not letting that hold me back. I will be purchasing a 40’ mono haul in the very, very near future. It will be a project boat not that is a problem. The plan is to get her back to Ohio, take 2 years going through her then sail down the Ohio and Mississippi to the gulf. The other part of the plan is to get into several sailing courses and get some miles under my belt before I cast off the lines for good.

Welcome aboard Marine. I expect you know it already, but you will learn a ton here. Good luck on your purchase and refit.

Welcome up. Make sure the lass is up for the plans you have. I met a few hers that inspired a similar dream sometimes the vessel has a different idea. Not saying you cant but there are most always the most kindly unexpected other requests she will ask. I did similar in years past and it was great . best to you. Look for something with a resale name.

Re: permision to come aboard

Thank you for the welcome. I have been looking at the Morgan out island boats. I think they fit my needs but I'm taking my time and keeping my eyes and ears open.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here. I'd recommend a smaller project boat but not if your mind is already made up. You've got a good plan.
Since the wife and I are planning to purchase some property in your area I've been checking the craigslist for Cincinnatti from time to time. Good deals seem to pop up on 30 plus boats ocassionally.
kind regards,
