Now I've Done It

I made an offer on a Pearson 323. And buy the way I am Ron. Used to sail a wooden gaff rigged sloop out of San Diego many Years ago. Now living in Saint Paul Minnesota. lots of sailing in between but I have never owned a BIG boat (6 tons is big to me)
Guess I have some learning to do.

Hi Ron and welcome to the forum. Don't look for any sympathy here. You know how misery loves company.

By the way, I think you picked a very nice boat but then I might be prejudiced.

I'm guessing the boat isn't in St Paul, so where are you sailing?

Cool!

We left from Barkers Island Marina in Superior. Lot's of great people there, and the service department is second to none on Lake Superior.

Take a day trip to Knife River or Corni but stay a mile offshore and watch the weather! The weather on Lake Superior sneaks up on you fast and the cold water is deadly.

Re: Now I've Done It

Hey thanks for the nice welcome's Were still in negotiations. I am aware the nature of Lake superior. We chartered boats out of Bayfield for years. It's a beautiful lake. I'm Going to retire in a few years so this boat may well be my home.
Cheers

Aloha and welcome aboard!
I don't know about these Superior attitudes. What's with you folks?
Or, should that be Superior lattitudes?

Hi John Thanks for the welcome. Lake superior in nice but its not Hawaii! everybody is pulling their boats out of the water about now, kind of sad. we have about 6 months of internet sailing to look forward to.

Ron

PS: Pearson 323 "barefoot" update, finally got everything in order survey done (nothing major) checks written, close the deal this weekend. kind of ironic the boats name is Barefoot, maybe change it to SnowBoots!
shes the green one in the center
