Noobie Cruiser From America in Japan

Hello all in the cruisers forum,

I am fairly new to the whole cruising thing not so much that i havent ever been to sea, but sailing a keelboat. I am in the Navy and i have made many cruises on small deck ships in the Pacific, probably not as small as 40ft or less, but small to the Navy. I am very interested in starting to cruise on my own boat which i am looking into buying as a liveaboard in Oak Harbor, Wa.I have sailed Small boats such as a laser and sunfish since I was about 14, so I know some very basic sailing skills and I am excited to learn many more and hopefully get to a real cruise sometime soon. I am looking into a career in education where theoretically I could spend my summers cruising.

Definitely kind of rambly, but this is supposed to be an introduction so I figured I could give you all some backstory.
