Greetings from us, Mike and Katie (Mike typing). We just bought our first boat, a '68 Soverel 33-1, currently up on stands in Charleston.

Welcome aboard, feel free to dive right in. As well feel free to beef up your profile with pictures of yourselves and your boat. Most of us like to learn about our members and get a better since of who they are.

Cheers

Aloha Mike and Katie,
Welcome aboard! Congratulations on the new craft. I'm not familiar with Sovrel but I'll be checking the web to see what they are about.
Kind regards,
JohnL

I'll spruce up the profile here shortly. But the basics...

We're nearly new to boating and are planning to live aboard and eventually cruise. Katie's from a long line of sailors and knows a bit; I'm an ex-Navy ET and know almost nothing about sailing. What I know is engines, electrics, and electronics.

We know this is a cramped boat, but it's our "starter boat." Eventually we'll move up to something in the 41'-45' range for our "dream boat." The Soverel will be a good learning experience, and we got a good deal on it--we believe. Heh.

edit: And here's the only decent pic of the boat thus far.

We're moving the boat Saturday, probably to Charleston City Marina. The former owner (Captain Larry) is going to ferry it with us and give us our first lessons.
