Newbie from Thunder Bay

Hi All,

I have been lurking here for a while checking out what cruisers are up to. We have a Downeaster 38 on the north shore of Lake Superior and really enjoy sailing her. We are thinking about leaving for warmer climates so really appreciate all the info we are finding here, thank you.

Greetings, and welcome aboard Carl & Judi.
It's great to see our Lakehead contingent growing.
Where do you keep "Libertad"?

At about 48-1/4 N, we’d barely qualify as "honorary" (aspiring) Northerners, compared to your 59-1/2 deg. latitude.

Yes, well I feel more like a Canadian. I say eh? a lot. Maybe it is just my hearing going bad. I always thought I'd lose my memory first. They call Homer the banana belt of Alaska.

I see that "Libertad" is berthed out on pier 3. I thought I recognized the name.

Aloha Carl and Judi,
Welcome aboard! What docks? Where? Libations? You've got my attention or is that invitation just for Gord? : )
Kind regards,

Hi SkiprJohn,

Anyone who happens to be in Thunder Bay at Pier 3 can hail Libertad and we will answer if we are aboard. Libations are what we have aboard for the season give us a hail and see what pours LOL ; 0

An incredibly generous & gracious offer - except they’re never actually aboard.
