NEWBIE FROM THE BIG APPLE!!!

Hey there,
I just joined from NYC, hoping to get some time in on a boat within the next few months... I'm sure you can imagine that living in an urban jungle can really drag you down, especially if you're a nature lover. Fortunately for me, long island has awesome beaches and i can relish in prospect park's beauty.
Anyhow, I grew up on the bay and have lived the life from fluke fishing off montauk to jetskiing and boating in the hamptons, to shark fishing in the canyon off the shinnecock inlet. I've lived on two boats as well for short stints. I'd essentially be a newbie on a sailboat as I've never gone as a crew, but I'd love to...

Welcome, as a NY harbor sailor, I can tell you that there is plenty to do close to home.
We host various groups for sails on the harbor, maybe you could tag along for one and get a feel for city sailing.
