My sailing adventure started about 3 years ago after 2 ASA classes.
Shortly after i fond Kahlua (1984 Erickson 30+) which i been sailing in SM bay area and very frequent trips to Catalina.

i'm married and have 2 kids... none are interested in sailing or surfing...

Hi Danny, You will enjoy this forum.... lots of interesting imfo about boats, boating and boating people.
Based as you are in Marina del Rey,California, is there a sailing season weather wise, or all year round good conditions? I'm trying to get an idea if there is an end of season herd instinct when people decide to sell their boats!

Best of luck encouraging your family onto the water, I'm in the same boat!!

interesting is understatement, spend most of the day at work reading...

in general Santa Monica Bay has one sailing season, it starts Jan 1st and ends Dec 31st...
from my limited understanding during your summer my winter it will be better time to boat buying, just don't expect significant price reduction.
it seen that most of the bigger (<40ft) / nicer boats are heading to Australia due to the favorable rate exchange...
