Newbie

Hello
My husband and I just purchased our first big boat! We are going to live aboard locally but would like to cruise islands. Thank you for the friendly information.

Re: Newbie

Welcome aboard CF !

You guys got yourself a good Egg! They made 'em stout and nice in the early 80's... Not to knock newer of course

Start sharing some stories... Unless of course there's nothing to report...

Quite often in fact nothing unforeseen... unfortunate... frustrating... costly... EVER goes wrong with a first (or 50th) boat purchase...

Re: Newbie

We have been avid boaters for many years but our boats have been "go fast" drag boats. Now that we are older and wiser(???), we are looking forward to a slower pace. We both are very experienced mechanics, fiber glass work and most importantly we can MacIver stuff...lol. I'm really excited about this new adventure, I just hope our 3 cats are gonna like it.

OK. Islands? Head north on the St John's about 100 miles, enter the ocean, turn right. Islands ahead. Hope the Egg doesn't have a tall flying bridge. I think there's a couple of fixed low bridges between you and Jacksonville.

On the way stop in Green Cove and say hello (if I'm still there).

I've been in the Ortega River for a while. I've been going through some refit work,- some deck coring; replacing 14 port lights; new running lights; some epoxy under my genoa tracks; rubber dinghy coating; new boarding ladder and more.. After the last squence of 14 years of play we've needed to do some serious upgrades, but I expect that we'll be back to the more mobile life again in four more months!

Maybe we'll see the Egg Harbor as we head back out again!
