Newb Zealander!

Hi everyone, John from New Zealand here, just saying hi and that I've linked into the forum. There's not a lot to tell about me. I've had three boats in the past, one little more than a moored ferro hulk, a 30ft Spencer keeler, and lastly a 26ft Markline flybridge launch. Currently landlocked in New Zealands beautiful North Island, an hours drive from the sea in three directions, and looking for my next vessel. No plans to liveaboard, just want some fun weekends away, sometimes a week perhaps. Hanks for the opportunity to participat in your forum, I love reading through and igniting my imagination!

Cheers!

Welcome Filofax Senior. We're glad to have you. Lots of info archived here. And often there's some laughs.

HI Filofax Senior. Always nice to see another New Zealander coming aboard. Sounds like your in or around Hamilton. Go the Chiefs finals next week. Once you have decided on your vessel please let us all know what it is and why always interesting reading.

Thanks guys!

Yep Rossad, you're pretty close, the North Waikato. Was Auckland born and bred.

Re: Newb Zealander!

Welcome John to CF. You probably already know of NZ's newest resident, enroute from Tahiti, sailing her 38' Gin Fizz "Guppy".

She is a smart girl, figures if she publishes her book as a resident of NZ, she will save a boatload on taxes over what she would of had to pay to the Dutch government, which did everything they could to keep her from sailing on her adventure. Plus, she is a competitive sort and might fancy the idea of competing in sailing for NZ against Jessica Watson.
