New to the site and building a cruiser

Hello everyone,
I am new to the site, but hope to be very active. My husband and I are currently finishing the model boat that will soon be built full size. Our eventual goal is to circumnavigate the world, but just cruising along is fine with me. Finances seem to be the biggest struggle point, but we have a bit of time while building the boat to save up and get things in order!

Hello, spunky!

Welcome aboard. I'm sure a lot of our members would be interested in learning more about your project. Any photos of your boat model that could be posted here?

Best wishes,

Sure, our website is www.theaquaknot.com . So far just photos of the model boat. Hopefully, soon we shall begin construction on the real deal! Very exciting.

-Thanks

A pretty hull, and a nice website!

Good luck!

Aloha Spunky,
Welcome aboard! Let's hear why you've decided to build instead of buy.
Kind regards,
JohnL

Well, part of the reason we would like to build instead of buy, is that we really want to "know" our boat. I also think that the excitement of knowing that your own hard work and sweat helped to create something that you can live on, and travel on is the kind of reward that can't be bought or pre-fab. Certainly, it isn't the cost, as decidedly it can end up being far more expensive than planned. I also like the control and options you have for every aspect of the boat.
