New to the site!

I'm Terri! Looking to gain more knowledge about cruising. I started sailing just over two years ago. I crew a lot, 2-3x a week and do many races year round. I crewed on a Peterson 44 last summer through BC and up the inside passage to Juneau, Ak and back. I'm hoping to do something like that again but in warmer climes. Hoping to get my own boat in a year or so. This looks like a fun site!!

Welcome funsailorgirl.........
You'll find other folks from the PNW here, as well as a collection of international miscreants extraordinaire.
Enjoy yourself and again, welcome.

John

Hi there! I'm pretty new here, too, though Hubby (AirMedMech) has been on the forum longer than I. We're in our first "official" sailing season, as we got our Catalina 27 last October (a week before Hurricane Isaac came to visit Louisiana), and are looking forward to learning the ropes, as it were... Glad to meetcha!

Ahoy there and welcome aboard!

It's 'each to their own' around here with many, many courses to choose from, but we'll certainly endorse your desire for "warmer climes"!

In any event, we wish you fair winds and following seas.

Re: New to the site!

Thanks Ldylightfoot! I race on a Cat 30! Very nice cruiser! I am going to be glib and tell you that there are no ropes on a boat, only lines and sheets! LOL!!! Although, I wouldn't mind meeting a cowboy/sailor I am actually hoping to get a similar boat in the next year. I race a lot on other boats but I want to cruise on my own. The PNW is a beautiful cruising area with lots of islands and inlets. Thank you for the welcome! Terri

There are so many great Mark Twain quotes. Another fav here (and very appropriate for sailors!) is...

"Everyone talks about the weather, but no-one does anything about it..."

Re: New to the site!

Welcome to the forum. I'll just throw in another Mark Twain weather quote:
"Cold? If the thermometer had been an inch longer, we'd have frozen to death.."
Hope to see you back in BC sometime.
