New to the forum ya'll!

Hey ya'll!
I am new to this forum, but really excited to get involved and learn what I can plus share what I know.

I am looking to embark on a sailing adventure this spring/summer. Hopefully finding a boat I can crew on to wherever the wind takes me!

I have been sailing for 3-4 years competitively and am looking to join someone's crew for a long ocean voyage! Any advice on how to go about this without being disrespectful or coming off as entitled will be much appreciated. In the meantime I am gathering gear and talking to as many boat owners as I can. I don't have any expectations except to find a safe and friendly boat to crew on without invading anyones personal space/home. I don't expect any free rides, but I do intend to contribute and work hard.

Good luck to everyone out there! And safe travels!

Re: New to the forum ya'll!

Welcome aboard, Mo! Good luck to you. Something that worked for me and I pass along is to look for respected local delivery skippers and see if they need a hand. Deliveries are a great way to learn, and if you find a good skipper you'll learn a lot, and if you do a good job, you'll likely be invited back! Learn to cook great meals on a boat, that is a real plus! Check this thread!
