New to the Forum

hi all -

I am new here and wanted to introduce myself and family.

I have been on the water for a good portion of my life and purchased my first boat about 13 years ago. For most of this time I have been into fishing and currently have a 32 express style sportfishing boat that lends itself to some crusing abilities.

My wife and kids (age 5 and 3) love being on the boat and we are starting to use the boat for more than just fishing. In about 1 1/2 weeks we are taking a cruise up the hudson for a few days and this will be the longest trip taken with the kids so it should be interesting to see how it goes.

We are starting to get the crusing bug and have long term plans for a larger boat, most likely sail, that will give us the ability for more efficient longer range cruising.

I am looking forward to learning more about crusing from this forum.

We started cruising in our Westsail 32 when our kids were the age of yours. They loved it. Getting your kids on the water when they are young gives them something to do besides watching TV. Kids need to get out and experience the great outdoors.
