pirate New! To Sailing!

Hello All!

I am new to sailing! I am in my mid 20s and with nothing holding me to solid land (no kids, no "career", no house, etc.) I have decided that sailing will be an awesome opportunity for me to be able to travel and see the world! A year ago I met the man of my dreams who has been researching/thinking/saving for the "dream" for the past 3 years. I had never set foot on a sailboat before I met him but I knew I wanted to explore this world as much as I could, so when he asked me if I wanted to potentially join him, it was a no-brainer for me! We currently live in East Tennessee, where we enjoy sailing around on his small 20ft boat. The time is getting closer (I'd say withing the next year to year and half) for us to purchase a boat and I couldn't be more excited!

Obviously we are trying to be "budget friendly" so we are looking for something older, well equipped, between 31-37ft. I have found that are many layers to researching what I need to know about sailing, and this Forum provides the perfect place for it! I am excited to begin!

Re: New! To Sailing!

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here on the forum and I'd like to hear about your boat search. This is a good place to bounce brands, models and such off of folks to see what opinions might surface.
First thing to do is to decide what you'll want to do with the boat. That'll determine which boat you'll want to pursue.
