New To Forum - Hello Everyone

Hello everyone.

I've been reading CF for about a month now (yes, I was an unregistered lurker) and finally took the plunge and registered.

I'm originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, but relocated to the US Midwest a decade ago for employment. I'm an Electrical Engineer by education who has spent his career working on embedded software and vehicle systems, primarily for off-highway and some marine systems.

I grew up on fishing boats and dive boats but never had chance to sail. Now that I'm in the midwest I'm confined to a few lakes, but my inlaws have hooked me on sailing and on the Abacos where they spend winters on their boat.

My wife loves the ocean even more than I do, so a relocation back to a coastal area where we could get into sailing is not out of the question. Retirement plans definitely involve a boat, cruising, and a lot of fun.

I look forward to meeting new friends here and hopefully learning a lot.

- Tim

I'm not a pessimist - I'm an engineer

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Tim.

The optimist sees the glass as half full, and the pessimist sees the glass as half empty; whereas the engineer sees the glass as too large.
