New to forum

Hi all,
I'm new to this group. I sail an IP 32 out of Newport, Oregon. In June I am sailing north to Washington and BC. I've never done this passage before, but have chartered in Washington and am somewhat familiar with the the area. I am very interested in talking with other sailors in Washington or with those who have done the motor/sail north from Oregon. I will also be looking for moorage north of Seattle preferably, and would appreciate any suggestions about where I might get a slip.
Thanks,
Amazing Grace

Hi Amazing Grace,

Usually people are welcomed here within seconds! Sorry for out lack of "hospitality" ;-)

I don't have any experience in the PNW but I do know we have a lot of members that do.

I understand the IP is a great boat. Good luck on your upcoming trip.

Aloha Amazing,
Again, welcome aboard! Didn't you post a meets and greets before? Maybe another thread. Good to have you here.
Kind Regards,

Welcome AG:

I am doing the reverse. In September I sailed from Port Townsend to Astoria OR and around May 12 I'll be heading down the coast to SF Bay. The Costal Pilot #7 is a good book to have. It tells alot about the weather the sea conditions and what is in every port. Good luck with your trip

Welcome Amazing Grace; I hope I meet you down on the docks before you leave for Washington. There are several forum members in Newport. Again, welcome.

Thanks for the welcome

Thanks for the welcome and the recommendation about Coast Pilot #7. I'll be in Newport G31 most weekends until I leave in June. Stop by and say hi Johneri1.

Unfortunately, The Atlas of Pilot Charts of the South Atlantic Ocean and the North Pacific Ocean (NGA Pubs 105 and 108, respectively) are not yet available for download, as they are still awaiting digital conversion.

Otherwise, Pilot Charts are viewable here:
