New to CF...Hi to All...How Do I Post a Classified Ad ?

Hi, All, I'm a complete newbie to the Cruiser's Forum. I wish I'd known it existed years ago, as when I started to begin sailing, it could have helped
me immensely with all those "what is", and "how to" questions! I still have a bucket full of stuff to learn, anyway, so better late than never!
I've owned a lovely Pacific Seacraft 25 (1978) for 3 years now, and I
also have a niftly little Montgomery 17' in the back yard that I've been
working on for a few years, too. 10 years ago I sailed a Catalina 320 with my 1st husband, up the Columbia, over the bar and all over the Broken Group, San Jaun's and in Barkley Sound. 3 ocean passages in all, though it
wasn't THAT far out to sea...still, was GREAT FUN, and I hope to do it all
again someday...only heading SOUTH the next time!
Due to a change in my working schedule, I don't have any time for my Pacific Seacraft, and she's just sitting and floating at the docks. I can't get out on her, and am neglecting her badly....I haven't even cleaned her
teak this year...sad, sad, sad. I'm going to sell her and hope that the new
owner has time to give here all the attention she deserves...I'd thought I
would be retiring soon, but the economy sure has put that down!
How do I place an ad in the "classifieds" section of our forum? I feel like a dunce, but I can't seen to find any info to help me do it...any good
advice? Thanks a lot....... Chris

Hi,

Not too difficult to post an ad.

1. go to the top of the home page and click on "Discussion Board"

2. go to the bottom of that page under the section "Cruising Business and Commerce" and click on "Classified Ads"

3. a the top of the listings click on "New Thread" and fill in the blanks.

Welcome to Cruisers Forum, krystel819. Skipmac's post pretty much covers it, but before you post your ad, please read the "sticky" at the top of the Class Ads threads, entitled "General Guidelines for Posting Classified Ads." It will provide quite a bit of information for you.

Your ad, or ads, can be as simple or as complex as you wish. I would suggest that you look through some of the ads already listed in the Classified Ads Forum. The prefixes at the beginning of each thread indicate the type of ad for the item listed. At the top of the list of threads, you will see a box labeled (any prefix). Click on that and select, for example, For Sale: and the list will be re-ordered with only the For Sale listings in it.

If you scroll down through that list and look at some of the vessel for sale listings, you should get a pretty good idea of what makes a good ad for a vessel that is for sale.

If you have any other questions, or any problems, just post here or send me a Private Message. Lots of friendly folks here eager to help.
