I just want to announce the official opening of the first unofficial Kurdish Sailing Club, Sulaimani Branch. Northern Iraq.
Membership is free and open to all. We don't have a clubhouse as yet but we do have a bar. We don't have any boats at the moment but we're working on that. Luckily the tides out most of the time down in Basra, so mooring's not a real issue, although we do have a post to tie your donkey to. (Military members please park the Humbies well out of sight and check weapons at the bar)
I'm busy putting together a committee, I shall offer my own services as Commodore, Vice Commodore, Bosun, Secretary, Sailing Officer and Entertainments / Bar / and Property
Member, but I'm always on the lookout for volunteers.
Club Projects:
1. Save up a sailing kitty, the sooner to get the hell out of here.
2. Stay sane by looking for my dream
boat to live on in 2 years time.
3. Chat with sailing folk online to keep up with the real world
events.
Safe Sailing
Capt. Gauguin
