NEW MEMBER with a 38' UNFINISHED CUSTOM KETCH FOR SALE

Hello All,

Forgive me if this isn't the appropriate forum to post. I have a 38' unfinished custom built ketch for sale located in Oakville Ontario Canada. It was built by my recently departed Father. He always joked about Davy Jones Locker, and he simply ran out of time (84 yrs old). The boat is wood/glass/epoxy and always been under shelter since being upright and with cabin built. It's ready for finishing and rigging. It was his retirement dream.

I have the capability to finish his "project" however it just can't fit into my current life plans, however I hope to find someone that has a similar dream and more time and finances to finish and sail her. This would be a fantastic opportunity for someone that has space and finances to finish the project.

Please contact me for details, construction pictures (lot's of them) or to view by appointment only. Buyer will be responsible to have this fine vessel hauled by a suitable transport company.

Thanks,
Michael

I tried to attach a pic but it didn't appear to take. Trying again...

It has hard chines and a relatively unique concept of powering by an outboard motor. The idea was easy serviceability, and maneuverability that sailboats typically lack when docking.

Is there a design name? Was it designed by your dad, too, or by a known boat designer?

Keep trying to upload those photos. We'd all like a look at her!

My Father designed this himself, it's a "one off" so to speak.

He was a mechanical engineer, conceptual as he approached retirement. Dad wasn't big on finishing details, he built and moved mountains... I will put up a portfolio of pics on my personal website as this doesn't appear to work. Give me a day to compile this.

Thanks!

I think you need a minimum of 10 posts before you can post pics.

Burn through a few, then try.

Only 7 posts to go and you can post the pics. Or you could easily upload them to somewhere like imgur.com in a gallery and post a link here.

I put up a small slideshow here: http://stikit.ca/38'%20Ketch/html/0.htm

Didn't have any shots of the keel on hand, it's also partially built and I have a lot of scrap steel for ballast.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Sorry about your Dad. I hope someone near you can grab the project and complete it. There looks like a lot of man-hours went into it so far.
kind regards,
