New Member - Six Months into Open-Ended Cruise

Hello Everyone,

I am sitting here in Roatan, Honduras waiting on weather for my next jump South and thought it was about time I checked in on a real cruisers forum. I left Kemah, Texas January 10th and have been working my way down the Western Caribbean ever since. I am running late now and am anxiously working my way South to get out of the hurricane belt before it gets any later. After having the eye of Hurricane IKE pass over me and my boat, Jargo I swore never again to be in a hurricane belt during a hurricane season, but here I am.

Looking foreward to reading the forums and learning more about the other cruisers who are out here with me. Thanks everyone and a warm hello.

Very, very cool what you are doing? Let me know if there is anything I can do to help your cause. I applaud your decision to take your life in the direction you have. It is very admirable.

Stay safe.

Aloha Sailing,
Welcome aboard! Are you continuing south toward Panama? I've heard there are some hurricane holes down there but I don't have the experience of finding one.
Stay safe!
Kind regards,
JohnL

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I kind of posted and ran on that last one. Three weeks later I've made it to Bocas del Toro, Panama. Finally, South of the hurricane belt and able to relax a bit.

I can't recommend the beat from Roatan east this late in the year. Cheers everyone!
