Being green is not a problem so long as you don't end up that way. The key is not the boat. The key is in the skipper and the crew. You can do anything you know you can, but not anything you try. You have to prepare to be successfully! It's all supposed to be fun. That is the riddle you need to solve on your own terms so you can show up and have fun. If you do that you have them it all. The trick is showing up is most of it.

Welcome aboard. The great thing about sailing is that all of us will step off a boat for the last with just a tinge of green. Some, of course, more than others. It's a life long journey of learning and while at the same time having the time of your life. Let us know some of your sailing experience and what direction, you in you intend to plot, eg, coastal cruising, blue water, racing. There's a lot of great sailors here to help guide you.

It took two years of looking at all sorts of boat on-line. Depending on what type of boat you're looking for "Sailboat or powerboat," check out all those magazines (I'm sure you are.) What we did was compiled a list of things we want in a boat along with our price range. What we finally got was far more then what we anticipated as it took time and patience and a good sales person. Our price range was something not over $55,000; however, we found that many boat brokerage were more interested in potential buyers in the $150,000 plus range. We were small pickings and unfortunately, we did not get great service. We were most grateful with the salesperson that we purchased the boat from as he went out in heavy winds and rain to test out the boat with us. After two years, we've been enjoying our sailboat so much and living our DREAM! So, go for it...live your DREAM...You won't regret it. We should have gotten our boat years ago!
