New member in the northwest

Hi folks
Just a short note to introduce ourselves. We are living aboard our 20 yr old PS34 which we have been slowly refurbishing for the past year. Bought her in Kemah, Texas, sailed it to Florida last summer and realized we couldn't stand the heat...so we are back in the northwest. Looking forward cruising the Broughton Islands and beyond this summer. Two years ago we made a trip in this area on a 22ft and are looking forward to doing it again alittle differently.

Are any out there doing the same?

D & J

I assume that the Broughton Archipelago, Spirit is referring to, is located between Northern Vancouver Island and the British Columbia mainland (east of Port McNeill, near the mouth of Knight Inlet). The area is noted for unspoiled wilderness eco-touring (kayak).

Good, safe anchorages can be found at Waddington Bay, Farewell Harbour on Berry Island, Joe Cove on Eden Island and the cove on the southeast side of Crease Island.

It should be a spectacular cruise.

Aloha Spirit,
Welcome aboard!! Will you be near Campbell River on Vancouver Island where Barry and Pat have Pacific Voyager? Do a search for Pacific Voyager if you want to contact them. They are really great folks with lots of cruising experience and they know that area.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

From the newbies in the northwest

Thanks so much for all the replies! Looking forward watching this forum and learning lots of new stuff. Thanks for the info regarding Pacific Voyager. We will try to find them. Would be great to meet up with lots of sailors in that area this summer.

Hi Spirit,
What I meant to say but was awfully clumsy about was that you can do a search on this forum for Pacific Voyager then send them a private message if you like. They are new members of the forum.
Trying to talk my wife into another Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival again this year. My boat is glass but I really like the show.
Kind Regards,
JohnL
