Hi all,
My name is Stuart and I live at the southern end of New Zealand. I spent a large portion of my childhood living aboard at the Northern end of New Zealand. After 20 odd years ashore, I have recently purchased a Hartley Tasman 50/50 motor sailor at 27'3" long. I am in the process of converting it to live aboard and once aboard intend on starting construction of a 35'6" Crown Jewel, designed by Tom MacNaughton.
Living at the cold end of New Zealand, I face different practicalities to what I am used to, such as heating, for which I have also purchased a Dickinson Pacific diesel stove.
Having a dial up connection for the internet I find these web based forums frustrating, but will be getting wireless broad band when I move aboard, when I look forward to taking a more active role in this forum, as I hope to gain a lot of new ideas from people living in different climates and conditions. In the mean time I will continue to rely more on the Yahoo groups which I use through email.

Stuart.

The following link should take you to a photo of my current boat, if I have got this right.

Welcome aboard from the Pacific N.W. of the USA.

So, what makes you move into the cold country? I'm getting pretty tired of it my self. I'm only able to work on the boat 6 months out of each year. And it just happens to be sailing season at the same time.

I sure would like to have my spot back in San Diego, Calif. You never know what you've had until it's gone.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll find this place an informitive site and we're glad to have you. You make the 31st Kiwi aboard.

I loaded your picture for ya................................................ ._/)

Yes we noticed. Who's the next 'great Australian'? The All Blacks, Helen Clarke , Dean Barker We hear you just claimed Outragous Fortune as Aussie. A tv show about a pile of Auckland westies who drink to much and have burglary issues. I suppose that's not a surprise Is a good show though. Actually you can take Helen, it would do us a great favour

Aussies, Ya just gotta love em, someone has too

Yes please, take Helen.
Keep ya hands off Dean Barker. If ya even give him a sideways glance, we will declare war. We may have got rid of the airforce, but GMac and I can still throw stones.

Welcome to the forum Stuart - been very warm in Napier this past week but we do have a heating system on board - an Eberspacher (?sp) which I absolutely can recommend. A previous owner had it put in when living aboard in a Nelson winter.
