Welcome! Oriental is a great place, and an interesting area to sail out of.

KNoel, Welcome to the community! We'll be passing through Oriental within the month and likely stay of a couple of days,- maybe a night at the Town Dock if it's open. 'one of our favorites!

Welcome to CF fellow Tar Heel. My wife and I sail on lake Norman but have hopes to get to the coast at some point sooner rather than later. We live five minutes from our slip just outside of Davidson. We too are relatively new to sailing but do spend as much time as we can trying to sharpen our abilities in high winds which I feel is a must for any proper sailor.

I have been reading this forum for many years and have found it extremely helpful in our learning the ropes ......which are now referred to as lines. Always looking to share information and talk sailing here so if I can ever be of help feel free . Mark

Re: New Member from North Carolina

Thanks for the nice welcome everyone! We love sailing the NC coast and have done the Abacos (10 years ago) and hope to do it again! Wonderful to see some fellow North Carolinians here. We are enjoying Oriental---we tend to change location every few years. Have been in Washington (NC), Bath, and Oriental twice. We just got our current boat late last summer after being boatless for 6 years, so we're enjoying getting back into it.
