new member and InavX renewal

Hi I'm new in the forum and don't really know if i'm in Meets and Greets.
I have a Mirage 27 in Quebec and planning to go to Halifax, where I grew up ,my dad in the Navy.
I have InavX on my iPad and trying to renew the GPS position icone.Fugawi was sold to Google ,it seems, and I don't know if I must purchase the 107$ app in Apple Store.Any help welcomed.

Hi Copaco, and welcome to CF. I did the journey out to Newfoundland from Lake Ontario last season. I followed the north shore past the Saguenay, and I expect you’ll stick to the south, but I’m happy to answer any questions I can.

I also use iNavx. It’s news to me that Fugawi was sold to Google, but that is possible. But my iNavx (which was bought at least seven years ago) has always been updatable for no additional cost.

Could it be is is your chart subscription that is out of date? Depending on which one you have, it might be this cost. Fugawi is now the one that licenses these charts.

There was a recent thread on this question. You should look at:

Re: new member and InavX renewal

Hi Copaco
You probably have checked already but just check in your iPad settings under privacy that location services are on and then again under settings: iNAVX that location is turned on? Hope this helps

Sure did. Spent a number of days on a mooring in Quarry Is. Amazing place. We then spent a few more nights behind Ile a la Chasse before making our crossing over to Corner Brook. We sailed past Havre-St. Pierre. Nice little town. Amazing cruising area you have.

With regard to the issue you’re having, sounds more like a problem with the GPS than the software. Does your GPS work in other apps? Perhaps your Locations Services are disabled for iNavx?

Re: new member and InavX renewal

If you are in Corner Brook, the Lower North-Shore in Québec is very interessing.I will try to find an article by an american who wanted to come back. For Inavx, I had to purchase a new Navionics chart through Fugawi. It won't download so far.!!!
