Hi Everyone,
My wife and I are in our third year of a circumnavigation aboard a 53-foot Amel Super Maramu ketch. We left Kemah, Texas at the end of December 2003 and are currently lying in Darwin, Australia. We plan to leave Darwin in mid-September for an Indian Ocean transit to the Med. If anyone will be in the Indian Ocean this year and would like company through pirate country, we will be sailing Maldives to Djibouti around November and we would love to hear from you.

We did not have much experience when we set out on this trip but have accumulated some 17,000 miles in the past couple of years. We are still learning and would be happy to share our experience and knowledge with anyone who has similar dreams of adventure.

Hi John,
Thank you for the welcome! This looks like a great forum and we look forwards to participating. I will definitely take you up on the beer but Annette usually drinks a nicely oaked Chardonnay…….
We sorta plan on spending next year in the eastern Med and then crossing the Atlantic in late ’08 to complete the circuit. Hawaii could well be next!
