The good news is everything you ever learned about boats is still valid. I'm not clear what an "ex MVF" is?

MFV = motorised fishing vessel , its been converted to dive/charter ship with gaff rigg
I need to get some sort of skipper qualifications as the spanish are quite strict in this area .

Your reply to Paul, indicated that it was set up to dive/charter. Can I assume that you seek to use her Professionally or will it be just your personal pleasure

Note: just reviewing the above sound somewhat salacious...but you get the drift.

The former will require considerable effort the latter join one of the many sailing clubs that are dotted around the island and you will with the experience you note regarding creel boats quickly achieve their "Patron" qualification

Finally as a Scot from Edinburgh where were you based in Scotland?

Best Regards and welcome

lan
