Hello, my name is Murray.
I have a Sceptre 36 that I sail in the North Channel part of Lake Huron. I am in the process of refinishing the teak panelling and trim in the interior. I have read some of the post about refinishing and found them very informative. Of all the post I read no one suggested using teak oil as a finisher. I planned to use teak oil. I would like comments about using it.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Sorry I can't help on your finishing question. I would think it would be great but that's an uneducated opinion.

Welcome aboard, Kakalina.

If your summers are pretty humid, you may find mold growing with it's "feet" in your oil. Should that happen, but you still like the satiny look, I'd sand off the oil and varnish it satin finish, much easier to clean, IMO. YMMV. For background, I used to have oiled teak on our previous boat, and after it got moldy, it was a fiddly job to sand it all off all those little turned railings, and bring the wood back, but the varnishing did work and we liked the look when it was done.
