New Here - Heading to the Caribbean in Nov!

Hi all,

My name is Vikki and my husband and I have lived on our Sabre 426 since urchasing her in May 2004. We have planned our cruise for 10 years now and are finally leaping off from Hampton Roads, VA to Tortola BVI with the Salty Dawg Rally this November. We plan on cruising each year for 6 months and then spending 6 months in Maine during the summer. Thihs year we hope to hit Anguilla, St. Barth's, Antigua and Guadeloupe before heading to Puerto Rico where we will keep Moriel on a hurricane pad for next season. Any useful info on these locations would be greatly appreciated! We do have Doyle's Cruising Guide and use noonsite but 1st hand experience is always the best!

Anguilla is just a short sail from St Maarten, which is worth a stop if you need anything. The lagoon is a nice protected place to stay a few days if needed too.

Not a big fan of Antigua, but I know others like it bunches.

hi vikki, i don't have any advise for you as I'm thinking of taking my boat to virgin islands myself in january. i do have a question about putting boat on hurricane pad in puerto rico . i have been wondering what to do with her during that time. could you share with me which marina you are thinking of using?
