New Here, A live aboard and weekend cruiser from the Salish Sea!

Hello All!
I am new to this forum.
I have looked over a couple of threads here while searching for various things on the internet and figured it’d be about time I join.

I currently live aboard, and sail to destinations primarily within the Puget Sound. I have been sailing the Salish Sea for over 10 years and within the last 12 months put 500nm of water behind me with small weekend trips while working a full time job.

It’s my dream to sail the world someday and to that end am on here mostly to listen and look for input on the ins and outs of long range cruising.

My current boat is a C&C 30 mkI, which I find to be an adequate boat for my current purposes, however will likely not circumnavigate in it.

I, of course have a decent amount of knowledge on some destinations within the Salish Sea / Puget Sound... and sail year round in our wet winters; so if I can be of help in regarding questions there I will do my best to be of service.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the knowledge base on this site which has helped a lot in my researching.

A true sailor, foot on a tiller that needs varnish, worn cushions, a boat hook within easy reach, and a quart of oil at the ready. No dock queen here. Welcome aboard, you're in good company.

AND that smile that can't be replicated anywhere else but out on a boat!
Looks like you're in the right place - welcome.

Thank you! Having such warm greetings makes it easier to be new here

She may not be the prettiest boat around but she’s definitely got it where it counts and has turned many a frown upside down! Fair wind and favorable currents - leaves nothing left to be desired!

Welcome. I started locally cruising on a C&C 30 with a tiller as well... Great boat. Loved the way she could turn on a dime.

She is a pleasure to sail! Even able to rotate the tiller through 360 degrees so I can maneuver backwards in the marina with ease!

Hah! That backfired on me once... didn't realize I had the rudder backwards while I was trying to back out of a slip

Re: New Here, A live aboard and weekend cruiser from the Salish Sea!

Has it’s ups and downs.
I getting a tiller caught on the backstay, or just tacking super quickly.
My next boat is probably going to have a wheel.

Do you know if there are many people from the Salish Sea? I noticed there didn’t seem to be an area on this forum for the pnw as a destination. We’ve got some great sailing here though!
