New Grampion 23 owner

Hi there, I'm a new boater took sailing lessons then bought a Grampion, sailed it from Bronte to Jordan station lake Ontario last night, first cruise from previous owner. Well we had a plan it would take 3 to 4hr using the motor and sails. Well the wind died and motor either died or the gas tank wouldn't take the bottom half of fuel? So we had to paddle a bit. It took 7 hrs and alot of frustration with this motor. If anyone has knowledge of this engine fuel problem or info on my 23 Grampion it would be greatly appreciated love the boat needs some TLC. I'm also looking for parts manuels and a trailer thanks Shaun from Grimsby on

Re: New Grampion 23 owner

Shaun,

Welcome to CF

I am guessing you have an outboard engine. What is the make and model of the engine?

This could be something simple like the fuel has gone bad so the tank and carb needs emptying to more serious problems.

Pete

Re: New Grampion 23 owner

Yup - we had a bit of overnight rain recently. Did you remember to close your air vent when the engine was off? If not, perhaps just water in the gas may be the problem. We're seeing a LOT of that lately in our dinghy engines...

You're now on the (sometimes steep) learning curve of a new boat owner! Good luck,
Warmly,
