Hi everybody! I'm Dr Nick... Not really, I'm Dave Calhoun of the sailing vessels (yes plural) Freedom Rider III, a Freedom 32 and Freedom Rider IV, a Fantasia 35. I'm a full time liveaboard, six months a year in Alameda CA on Freedom Rider III winter in La Paz Mexico on Freedom Rider IV. I've been lurking here and fund lots of information.

Welcome to the forum. I spent a season in La Paz. Fun place.

A hearty welcome, Dave! Glad to see you here. I forgot about looking you up at AYC. Will try to stop by there when you're back from Mexico. I'm probably going to move my boat to the estuary around the beginning of February.

Care to give some recommendations? I'm thinking about Marina Village in the short term because it's closest to the Bay Bridge....I'm always running late to the start lines. Tho will probably start anchoring in the bay for early morning races and may try some of the other marinas later on.

Re: New forum member

It depends also if you liveaboard. Some places have waiting lists. Grand Marina is nice. I spent a year at Alameda Marina. Although access to Svendsens is nice, security can be spotty and recently talk about gutting the place in lieu of condos.
